Our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond our congregation as we engage in educational outreach initiatives that offer enrichment and empowerment. By fostering a love for learning and providing access to educational resources and enrichment, we strive to uplift and create pathways to opportunity
Over the past five years Emmaus has served students and families in the West Charlotte Community through strategic education programming. Our mission in educational outreach is to enrich, equip, and empower through access to educational resources and support. We have offered the following programs in the West Charlotte Community and Charlotte Metro Area:
Beauty on Bradford
-A visual arts project studying the history of Charlotte communities and documenting the beauty of historically disenfranchised communities.
Emmaus Outlet
– A 5-week program that serves students at-risk for school failure, involved with DJJ, and in need of emotional support and enrichment.
Emmaus Impact
– A 6-week paid internship designed to engage graduating high school seniors in community service, college prep, and a collaborative capstone project
STEM DAYS
– Quarterly Day of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic learning.
Our STEM Days will ultimately result in students receiving a laptop to contribute to the narrowing of the digital divide.
